Raversijde - De Lombarde

Raversijde

Provincial domain Raversijde

The disappeared fishing village of Walraversijde, in Ostend, is one of the most important archaeological sites in Flanders. Discover the extraordinary world of Prince Charles (1903 – 1983), prince regent of Belgium from 1944 to 1950, royal child and artist.

In addition to an archaeological museum and four reconstructed fishermen’s houses, you will find a unique piece of nature to explore on foot or by bike.

Atlantikwall is one of the best preserved parts of the German defence line, with more than sixty bunkers, open and underground passageways, observation posts and artillery positions, built during the Second World War. Everything has been meticulously redesigned as it was 60 years ago and exudes the atmosphere of “the Longest Day”.
